Tech, Job & Career Terminology

We are sure most of you know these common terms. But, some, who have not applied for jobs in a long time, may not. So, here they are:

ATS -- Applicant Tracking System – Software System used by employers during recruitment and hiring process; generally used to collect and manage resumes and applications.

AI -- Artificial Intelligence – Field that combines computer science and data to enable problem solving; systems and machines that learn & perform human like tasks. AI enabled algorithms may be used in some ATS systems.

CPO -- Chief People Officer - Similar to Chief Human Resource Officer; Manages human resources, industrial relations, practices and operations.

CV -- Curriculum Vitae - Detailed Resume with Publications, Patents, Etc; Primarily used Academic or Specialized Settings.
